OPENING PRAYER: Ka inoi tatou – Let us pray. In this time of silence, let’s bring to mind all the things we want to pray for. (Allow silence, 1 minute) (This prayer is courtesy Caritas Lenten Program 2022) E te Atua, God of encounter, awaken us to your presence in our midst. May we hear your voice in our sharing and in our listening to the scriptures as they show us your good, pleasing and perfect will.
Genesis 15:1-12, 17-18 After the reading, silence Let’s be quiet for a few moments and let God’s Word find a place to rest inside us. Discuss - ‘O Lord God, how am I to know that I shall possess it?’ The question is full of anxiety. How does God respond to Abram’s anxiety? Anxiety can seem like darkness. What are my anxieties? What is God’s a deep and terrifying darkness enveloped him

The Lord is my life’s refuge; of whom should I be afraid? Hear, O Lord, the sound of my call; have pity on me, and answer me. Of you my heart speaks; you my glance seeks. The Lord is my light and my salvation. Your presence, O Lord, I seek. Hide not your face from me; do not in anger repel your servant. You are my helper: cast me not off. I believe that I shall see the bounty of the Lord in the land of the living.
Philippians 3:17-4:1 MaxPixel CC After the reading, silence Let’s be quiet for a few moments and let God’s Word find a place to rest inside us. Discuss What does, being citizens of heaven, ask of us today? What does, being citizens of heaven, ask of us today?
