Terminal Learning Objective Action: Train a team. Condition: In a simulated situation where you are a team leader scheduled to deploy to an operational area. You have full access to reference materials, training aids, training areas, required equipment, and leader guidance and direction. Standard: All tasks that support the platoon training plan are selected and trained IAW prescribed Army’s training doctrine guidance. 2 of 6
Backward Planning Determine the basics: what, how, and when Identify tasks you want to accomplish and establish a sequence for them. Develop a schedule to accomplish the tasks you have identified. Start with the last task to be accomplished and work back to present time. 3 of 6
Crawl Describe the task in general, its purpose, and its importance. Describe the standards of performance; tasks, conditions, and standards. Demonstrate the task performance steps by performing the steps in the proper sequence. Answer questions. 4 of 6
Walk Have each soldier perform actions required by each step at a slow pace. Coach and critique performance during each practice iteration. When the task is performed incorrectly, stop training, provide correction, and resume training. Direct the team to practice a the task until the soldier can perform it to standard without coaching. 5 of 6
Run Allow the task to be performed without interruption until completion. Have the soldiers repeat the task until it can be performed properly at full speed. Revert to the walk phase if the soldiers cannot perform the task correctly. 6 of 6
