There are currently no plans for it’s reinstatement.
WHY SHOULD YOUNG MEN REGISTER? 1 IT’S IMPORANT TO OUR NATIONAL DEFENSE 2 IT’S THE LAW AND A CIVIC DUTY 3 RITE OF PASSAGE THAT SUPPORTS THE ALL-VOLUNTEER MILITARY ALSO, DID YOU Men who fail to register are ineligible KNOW for: Federal student loans and grants, many statefunded student loans Many job training and certification programs All Federal government jobs in the Executive Branch, all U.S. Postal Service jobs, many state and local government jobs Delays U.S. citizenship process
WHO NEEDS TO REGISTER? MEN 18-25 YEARS OLD: Who live in the United States Immigrants living in the United States for 30 days or more documented and undocumented immigrants are included U.S. citizens living overseas At age 26 it’s too late to register !
HOW CAN YOUNG MEN REGISTER? ONLIN E Register at sss.gov U.S. POST OFFICE Paper application s available at all locations FAFSA DLL (DRIVER’S LICENSE LEGISLATION) Prompts nonMost states provide registrants who the opportunity (or are still eligible require) Selective for registration Service registration to register with when applying for a driver’s license Selective Service

HOW CAN YOU HELP? Inform young men, families, and communities that you serve: Talk to them about it Social Media (Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat, etc.) Display posters Distribute brochures / flyers Provide articles to publications (online or print newsletters, newspapers, websites) Educate other organizations who work with young men
