Subchapter 02T .1600 Groundwater Remediation Systems 02T .1600 Groundwater Remediation Systems rules (recently adopted September 1, 2018) Permit required to operate a groundwater treatment system that extracts, treats, and reinjects contaminated groundwater 02C .0225 Groundwater Remediation Wells rules (current) Permit required to inject additives using potable water or ambient air for the treatment of soil and groundwater Both types of permits treat contaminated groundwater Basically the same requirements with a few differences 3

Subchapter 02T .1600 Groundwater Remediation Systems The proposed 02C .0225 Groundwater Remediation Wells and Systems rule incorporates additional requirements of 02T .1600 rules Soils evaluation Computer modeling or predictive calculations Engineering planning documents Application and annual fees (required by statute for wastewater permits) Request EMC repeal 15A NCAC 02T .1600 since requirements will be included in the adopted 15A NCAC 02C .0225 rules 4
