General Information Approximately 6,000 non-Genentech employees on SSF campus performing a wide variety of work activities.

Site Program Document Purpose & Scope Requirements Inspections/Monitoring Training Recordkeeping Responsibilities

Contractors by Definition Contractor: A non-Genentech employee who is directly supervised by another company under contract to perform work related activities at a Genentech site. Category I Contractor: A contractor providing (a) construction services, (b) maintenance services, (c) hazardous-materials delivery, handling, distribution, transfer, and/or disposal of chemicals, or (d) removal or disturbance of such hazardous materials such as asbestos, lead-based paint, mold remediation, and/or storage. Category I Contractor activities often involve permit-required tasks (e.g., energized electrical work or confined space entry) and work at heights. Category II Contractor: A contractor providing support in non-office work activities, but not providing the services set forth in Section above. These activities include, but are not limited to, food-service support, custodial services, and/or landscaping work Category III Contractor: A contractor providing support services in the office environment.

ISNetworld: Contractor Pre-Qualification Database ISN members (contractors) fill out an Extensive Management System Questionnaire (MSQ) about company. Owner-client members (GNE) define which questions are important and what weight each question will have in determining a score. Contractors receive letter score ranging from A-F.
