14 15 Fine Adjustment Knob Diaphragm Also focuses the image of your specimen, but used when your objective lens is set to 40x or 100x. This knob moves the stage up and down much slower than the coarse. Allows light from the light source through to your specimen.
Preparing a Wet Mount
Preparing a Wet-Mount 1. Locate and cut out the letter “d” from a magazine (small print & lower-case). 2. Using forceps, place the “d” in the center of a slide. 3. Add one drop of water from a dropper, covering the paper completely. 4. Carefully place one edge of a cover slip to the side of the water drop and lower it onto the “d” at an angle. 5. Let any air bubbles escape. Be sure there is no excess water left on the top of the cover slip.
