EDUCATION PLANNING

WHAT IS AN EDUCATION PLAN? A semester by semester course of study outlining a strategy for identifying and reaching your educational goals. May include career planning activities and support tools Developed by you and a counselor Abbreviated ed plan and Comprehensive ed plan

THINGS TO CONSIDER Full-time school 12 semester units (3 to 4 classes) 1 unit 1 hour of class per week (usually) Study time/wk 2-3 hours per unit Work outside of school: Ideally 20 hours/wk

BACHELOR’S DEGREE PATHWAY Lower Division (Fresh, Soph) Upper Division (Junior, Senior) 1. General Education 39 – 48 units 0 – 9 units 2. Major 0 – 50 units 30 – 55 units 3. Electives (if needed) (if needed) 60 minimum 50 – 70 units total units of upper division to transfer coursework Total Units Minimum: 120 units Courses #100 and higher apply to a Bachelor’s Degree (with some exceptions for UC schools)

UCSD UNIVERSITY LINK Family Income 40,000 per year Submit application during first year Transfer within 3 years Complete all major preparation 3.5 GPA by end fall term before transfer 60 units 7-course pattern (both English and Math must be completed by end fall term before transfer)
