ADN PROGRAM INFORMATION Clinical Information Sites are located from Steuben to Chemung to Schulyer Counties and in Sayre, Pennsylvania Approximately 560 clinical hours completed in Medical Surgical, Obstetrics, Pediatrics, Community Health, Critical Care, & Psychiatric Care Offered 6 days a week, morning, evenings and weekends to meet your needs

ADN PROGRAM INFORMATION Nursing Courses Prescriptive – Department of Nurse Education sets most of your class schedule Courses taught Monday through Friday, some beginning at 7:00 a.m. Grade Requirement Grade of 75% (C) is passing; anything below is not passing and unable to progress to next nursing course Second failure in a nursing course after re-entry will lead to termination from program

SUNY APPLICATION PROCESS SUNY CCC application available online: SUNY CCC Nurse Education Program Webpage Applicants must apply as a Nursing major Applicants should submit the SUNY CCC application at least 10 business days in advance of starting the Nursing Application to ensure you receive your SUNY CCC ID Number (C number) SUNY CCC Office of Admissions awards transfer credit (not Nursing Program Admissions) Research and meet nursing admission requirements and deadlines

PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY Applicants must complete the following basic eligibility requirements: Apply to SUNY CCC as a pre-nursing major Complete Nursing Prerequisites with a grade of C or better Must have a science GPA of 2.75 or better Take the TEAS Admissions Assessment Exam and score 58.9% or better Prepare an essay on a topic provided by the Department of Nurse Education Submit two (2) letters of recommendation Submit Nursing Application to [email protected] Being eligible for consideration does not guarantee admission.

PROGRAM ELGIBILITY NURSING PREREQUISITE COURSES HS Biology or College level (BIOL 1050 or equivalent) HS Chemistry or College level (Chem 1020 or equivalent) Eligible for MATH 1215 Eligible for ENGL 1010 All must be completed with a grade of C or better Science courses have 7 year shelf-life

PROGRAM ELGIBILTY Nursing Prerequisites Grades Must earn a grade of C (not C-) or better in EACH nursing prerequisite course Must earn at least a 2.75 GPA in the nursing prerequisite courses

PROGRAM ELGIBILITY Completion Time Lines May be enrolled in remaining prerequisites for spring term All must be complete by end of the SUNY CCC’s spring term before starting program in the fall Cannot take prerequisites in summer before starting program

PROGRAM ELGIBILITY Nursing Science Courses (Biology and Chemistry) cannot be more than 7 years old from the time of Nursing program enrollment. Must have taken HS Biology and Chemistry or taken in college If applying for fall 2021, both sciences must have been completed during fall 2014 or after.

PROGRAM ELGIBILITY TEAS Admissions Assessment Exam Applicants can only take the test twice per application cycle Scores taken prior to 2018, will not be accepted 2020-2021 TEAS Information Register for the exam before February Testing centers have space limitations due to COVID, and it is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure that a seat is secured prior to application deadline www.atitesting.com

APPLICATION Essay Requirement Applicants must submit a two-page essay on a topic provided by the Department of Nurse Education Topics are on the application Format instructions available on the application Nursing Application becomes available through SUNY CCC website in mid-January Fall admission only

APPLICATION PROCESS To complete the Nursing Application, you will need to refer to and upload copies ( PDF format only) of the following: Unofficial transcripts from each institution attended Students with international educational background must submit a copy of evaluation of transcripts (NACES.org) Current CCC students must submit transcripts from each institution attended, including CCC TEAS Admissions Assessment Exam score report Essay Resume Two letters of recommendation If applicable: Unofficial AP, IB, or CLEP scores LPN License

ADMISSIONS DECISON Nursing program admission decisions are emailed the first week of April from the Department of Nurse Education Admission offer will be provisional: Must submit transcripts for currently enrolled courses by specified deadline Must achieve grade of “C” or better in currently enrolled Nursing prerequisites Must respond to the offer of admission, indicating intent to enroll by deadline specified in offer email

ADMISSIONS DECISIONS Admissions decisions are holistic and based on an array of factors: academic strength, writing ability, communication skills, and experience Academic strength determined by evaluating all coursework completed by the date of application. If enrolled in spring courses, those courses will not be evaluated.

ADMISSION DECISION If not admitted: Common reasons for denial: Incomplete application Nursing prerequisite/science GPA was not competitive Nursing prerequisites/sciences with multiple repeats Below a C in any of the Nursing prerequisites Sheer volume: given the volume of applications received for the limited number of clinical spaces, other applicants presented stronger applications Please have an alternative path to achieve your goal

ADMITTED STUDENT REQUIREMENTS Specific details and deadlines will be provided by Department of Nurse Education after admission: Attendance at mandatory nursing orientation in May Attendance at mandatory nursing Boot Camp one week prior to start of fall classes (Note: Please plan summer vacation accordingly.) American Heart Association BLS CPR certification Successful completion of health immunization requirements, including COVID-19 testing prior to start of clinical Cleared criminal background check Satisfactory Urine drug screen No exceptions to these mandatory requirements.
