NorthSTAR Training Introduction for Internal DMR Users Purpose: To orient the new internal user to the general functions in NorthSTAR. Common icons and text colors in this presentation: Blue text in NorthSTAR means the text is a hyperlink to another form or data table. An icon like this: 1 denotes a point of interest or an important feature in NorthSTAR. It will usually be accompanied with an arrow like this and descriptive text. Black text or greyed out arrows or features cannot be used in the current context. A black box with green text at the bottom left of the slide ( Mod 1 Slide 1.10 ) shows the training module and slide number. This is cross referenced to the Training outline used in conjunction with this presentation.

Search NorthSTAR Table Commands Searches the data in the table. Each 3 Advanced filtering 1 Toggles visibility of a filter row above the columns. Enter text and select a filter option to view a subset of the data in a table. table allows distinct search options described below in more detail. 2 Actions – Table Level Performs the action listed for the table. Each section has distinct actions available as described below in more detail. Actions Available: Add Task – Displays create task page Export-Excel Export-PDF Mod 1 Slide 1.6 4 Gear Icon Displays all the columns available for a table. Columns can be hidden or shown. Columns that are Initially hidden can be made visible.

NorthSTAR My Task and Tasks Pages The My Tasks table is filtered to display tasks assigned to the User and unassigned tasks for any workgroup they are an active member. Completed tasks are filtered out and the table is sorted by Due Date, ascending. 1 2 The Tasks table displays tasks that are assigned to all the Users and workgroups. NorthSTAR Alerts Screen A description of the alert 3 4 1 Select the checkbox in the column heading to check all checkboxes or select multiple checkboxes in the table. Select the Action - Mark Viewed or Delete at the top of the table to change the status for all the alerts selected. The checkbox does not need to be selected if using the row actions commands. Mod 1 Slide 1.14 2 Status– new viewed or deleted Severity of the alert. The severities are Critical, Minor, and Informational. The count of new alerts is displayed on the Home button. (See the help for RBDMS Main Console for more details.) 5 Actions Marked Viewed - Updates the status to Viewed for the alert on that row Delete - Updates the status to Deleted for the alert on that row. Displays a confirmation dialog. Select No to cancel and close the dialog. Select Yes to change the status of the alert.

NorthSTAR Online Forms 1 2 Mod 1 Slide 1.16 Name of the form. Selecting the link opens a new window with a new instance of the form in Edit mode. Only forms with a status of active have a link. This table displays all the active and inactive forms. Users can create a new instance of an active form. The following commands are available for this table: Search - Searches the table on the Form Name and Purpose columns. Current active version of the form. 3 4 Displays a count of instances of the form for all organizations that are currently “In Progress” or “Submitted” and have not been Approved or Rejected. This is not a historical count of submissions

NorthSTAR Forms in Progress 1 This table displays all forms with a Status of Draft, Returned, or Deleted. The following commands are available for this table: Search - Searches the table on the Form Name, Organization, and Description columns. 2 Actions (Edit Form) Opens the form in Edit mode which has not been submitted. Actions (Create Form Duplicate) Creates a duplicate instance of the selected online form in Draft status. Description for the duplicate instance Original form Description (Duplicate). NorthSTAR Forms Submitted 1 This table displays all forms with a status of Submitted, Approved, or Denied and the associated tasks for each form. The following commands are available for this table: Actions (Export - Excel) - Generates an Excel export of the table. Actions (Export - PDF) - Generates a PDF export of the table. Search - Searches the table on the Form ID, Form Name, and Description columns. The table below describes the fields in the Forms Submitted table. The table initially displays forms with a removable filter on status of Submitted and is sorted by Form ID. 2 Mod 1 Slide 1.19 Actions available – Withdraw Form
