How does ApplicationXtender Work? Ability to scan or import documents Stores documents within “applications” Applications are assigned to Banner forms Documents are accessed through Banner forms or directly through ApplicationXtender query Two ways to access – Through Banner INB – Directly - https://scan.iit.edu/appxtender/
Getting Started Requirements Gathering – Which Banner forms would your department like to use in conjunction with ApplicationXtender? – What type of documents will be imported into ApplicationXtender? – How would your department like to index documents? – Which users need to have access to ApplicationXtender? – Will your department be scanning paper documents into ApplicationXtender? – A list of ApplicationXtender compatible scanners can be found here – Must have ISIS or TWAIN driver

Case Study: Finance – Student Accounting Problem – Documents were stored in a network folder, which was inefficient and time-consuming – Documents were not attached to Banner records, meaning certain students’ or vendors’ documents had to be manually looked-up Solution – Configure ApplicationXtender to store students’ and vendors’ documents directly with their Banner records. – B-S-ID application linked to Banner forms TSASPAY, TSACONT, TSAAREV, TSICSRV Positives – – – – Improves organization Achieves higher indexing efficiency Frees up network drive space Leverages purchased software Negatives – None
