MS Honors Program Used as a tool to highlight the achievements of ECE students performing at a high level. Students fill out an online application on myviterbi.usc.edu Used as a tool to promote our PhD program. MS Honors Student/MS Honors Program Fellow
Requirements Eligibility: Maintain 3.8 GPA or above in each individual semester, not cumulative. For example, if you take 3 courses, the minimum grades to achieve 3.8 GPA are A-, A- and A). A 3.7 GPA if only taking one class in a given semester (i.e. A- ). Students can apply for the MS Honors Program AFTER their first semester if they satisfy the GPA requirement at USC on myviterbi.usc.edu. Students’ GPAs will be reviewed every semester At any point in time if a student does not maintain the minimum GPA requirement, their MS Honors application will be “denied.”
Benefits Grader position – faculty have been notified to give priority hiring to “Currently Honors” students as graders. ECE Ceremony & Certificate – in April, the ECE department hosts the annual ECE Awards Ceremony. During this ceremony, we celebrate the outstanding accomplishments of students within the ECE department. Resume highlight – students are welcome to indicate in the “Awards” section of their resume that they were admitted to the MS Honors Program ( 5% admitted). Special Events – periodically, MS Honors students will be invited to special ECE events (i.e. job interviews, meetings with chair, focus groups).
MS Honors Fellows Students must be in the MS Honors Program to receive a tuition award in the final semester of study 1. Satisfy the minimum GPA requirements for the MS Honors Program. 2. Submit the Application to Graduate at myviterbi.usc.edu – students must satisfy all degree requirements in their final semester. 3. A Letter of Recommendation Full time faculty with whom you did your Directed Research DEADLINE is MARCH 13th for graduating students for SPRING 2020
