THE ACT

The ACT The ACT offers a college admissions test which allows students to become visible to colleges and scholarship agencies across the country. Students should set up a free account at MyACT.org BEFORE testing on March 2nd.

ACT Work Keys

ACT Work Keys These assessments measure foundational skills required for success in the workplace and help measure the workplace skills that can affect job performance. Applied Math Graphic Literacy Workplace Documents Students earn a certificate once earning a 3 or higher and this can be submitted along with an application.

AR Civics Exam

AR Civics Exam Arkansas state law requires all students seeking a high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma to pass the Arkansas Civics Exam with a score of 60% or better.

ELPA 21 Provided to students participating in the English for Speakers of Other Languages Program.

NWEA

NWEA NWEA offers computer adaptive tests that adjust to each student’s learning level by providing a unique set of test questions based on the student responses. The goal is to answer 50 % of questions correctly. Math Reading Science

ACT ASPIRE

ACT Aspire provides the following: a standards-based system of assessments to monitor progress toward college and career readiness from grade 3 through early high school, connecting each grade level to the next school-wide assessment, data management and reporting functions for all students alignment with the ACT College Readiness Benchmarks student outcomes aligned to the Domain and Cluster reporting categories of the Common Core State Standards capability for predicting outcomes on the ACT

Standardized Testing Tips for Parents Encourage your child to do their best by communicating that you believe in him/her.

Standardized Testing Tips for Parents Make sure your child is in attendance every test day. Be on time everyday the week of testing!!! *Most sessions begin directly after breakfast. Note: Once a session begins, they cannot be admitted to that test session. They will have to take the test on a makeup day.

Standardized Testing Tips for Parents Tell children to stay relaxed during testing. – Help them to remain positive about their testing experience. – Make morning and after school routines stress free the week of testing.

Standardized Testing Tips for Parents Remind your child to follow all instructions and read the given information carefully and fully. Don’t spend to much time on one question. Bookmark questions if they are taking the ACT Aspire. Tell them to make sure they are clear on what the question is asking they before choose a strategy. Tell them to make sure that they have answered what is being asked before they make a final choice.

Standardized Testing Tips for Parents NWEA: Insist that your child takes their time and not just click answers. Also, they should not click next until they are sure of their answer (They won’t be able to go back.) ACT Aspire: Insist that your child uses their scratch paper to plan writing and work out problems. ACT: Use the study guides and materials offered by Hall and ACT

Standardized Testing Tips for Parents Pace themselves by keeping an eye on the remaining time. Remind your child to go back and review their choices before completing each section of the test.

The Test Environment The office will prohibit any interruptions via intercom, visitors, phone calls, etc We will also instill quiet hallways during test sessions. Students will have to put their belongings away during testing. No cellphones, airpods, or Apple watches will be allowed. *Pencils and scratch paper will be provided.
