Paschal offers Two Programs of Choice! 1) AP Capstone or 2) Computer Science

Programs of Choice at Paschal AP Capstone AP Capstone is a diploma program from College Board that equips students with the independent research, collaborative teamwork, and communication skills that are increasingly valued by colleges. AP Capstone is built on two AP Courses - AP Seminar and AP Research - that complement other AP courses. Students who earn scores of 3 or higher in AP Seminar and AP Research, and on four additional AP Exams of their choosing, will receive the AP Capstone Diploma.

Programs of Choice at Paschal Computer Science The Computer Science Program at Paschal provides students with four years of Computer Science education which includes at least two computer languages. AP Computer Science Principles and AP Computer Science A are both included as part of this program. Students will earn certificates in programs such as Oracle Java SE, and Microsoft Technology Associate, etc.

GRADUATION PLAN FWISD Students are all on the Distinguished Level of Achievement Plan All 9th graders will schedule their 4 core classes based on DLA requirements (for example) English 1 Algebra 1 Biology World Geography Students are then encouraged to take 1 or more required elective classes PE, Health/Speech, or Fine Arts Student will choose a required World Language course Spanish, French, Latin, German or Japanese The remaining periods are recommended electives based on endorsement Career and Technology Courses (i.e. Business, Education and Training, Engineering, or Multimedia) Lastly, we encourage students to pursue extracurricular activities, such as Athletics, Band, Choir or Theater.

ENDORSEMENTS Students will be able to earn one or more endorsements as part of their graduation requirements. Endorsements consist of a related series of courses that are grouped together by interest or skill set. They provide students with in-depth knowledge of a subject area. Students must select an endorsement in the ninth grade. Districts and charters are not required to offer all endorsements. If only one endorsement is offered, it must be multidisciplinary studies. Students earn an endorsement by completing the curriculum requirements for the endorsement, including 4th credit of math and science and 2 additional elective credits.

CCMR INDICATORS Meet criteria of 3 on AP examinations Meet TSI criteria via SAT, ACT, TSI-A, or College Prep Course in English and Math Complete a Dual Credit course (9 hours in any subject or 3 hours English/mathematics) Complete an On Ramps course Earn a Level I or Level II certificate Earn an industry-based certification (IBC) Complete a program of study in CTE Graduate with completed IEP and workforce readiness Enlist in one of the armed forces
