Objectives: 1. 2. 3. Outline the History and Development of the New York State Incident Management Team Discuss situations when an IMT may be used and list incidents / events that the NYS IMT has responded to as a Team or has supported with single resource overhead personnel. Briefly discuss the future of the New York State Incident Management Team Program.

NYS Incident Management Team History & Development 1996: Governor Pataki signed Executive Order No. 26 establishing NIIMS ICS as the State’s standard command and control system 1997: Initiate training for “All Hazards” ICS Position Specific Courses based on the NWCG “S” courses 2004: NYS Disaster Preparedness Commission (DPC) authorizes development of a State IMT, comprised of state and local agency personnel April 2004: Agencies nominate IMT members. May 2004: S-420 “Command and General Staff” training completed for 24 nominees.
