Weekly Agenda: 11-14 to 11-18-2022 Weekly Opening: Journal Writing Citizenship Word of the Week: Gratitude Current Events Weekly Work Period: Africa Geography Cloze Notes 1-4 Students will complete cloze notes. Will discuss whole group. Africa’s Political/Physical Map Labeling Students will use a political/physical features map to label selected countries and physical features in Africa. Africa’s Political Features Activity Students will use a political/physical features map answer questions concerning political/physical features.
Weekly Agenda: 11-14 to 11-18-2022 Weekly Work Period cont’: Africa’s Physical Features Chart Students will use PowerPoint to complete the chart. Whole group discussion once completed. Africa’s Souvenir Hat Activity Students will create hats to showcase each of Africa’s regions (Sahara, Sahel, Tropical Rain Forest, and Savanna). The students will also write a brief description of the regions. Africa’s Trading Card Activity Students will create create a card for each feature: Congo River, Niger River, Nile River, Lake Victoria, Great Rift Valley, Mt. Kilimanjaro, Atlas Mountains, and Kalahari Desert (8 total).
Weekly Agenda: 11-14 to 11-18-2022 Weekly Work Period cont’: Africa’s Post Card Activity Students will: Front: Draw a colorful illustration of one of the physical features that we have studied. Include a short greeting (title). Back: Write a note to your family as if you have visited some of the features that we have studied in Africa. (Include descriptions for at least 3 of the features.) Don’t forget to draw & color the stamp!
